里奇尼,昨天我俩没什么事,
就用我的蜡板玩了许多游戏,
因为我们约好要开心到底:
你和我都惬意地写着诗句,
玩着这套格律,那套格律,
伴着美酒与戏谑,彼此唱和。
从你家回来,你的才智幽默,
里奇尼,仍让我魂不守舍。
可怜的我,吃饭没了滋味,
眼睛也无法在安宁中入睡,
我发了疯,不能自已,在床上
辗转反侧,只盼着早一刻天亮,
早一刻和你说话,和你在一起。
可是疲惫的四肢仿佛已半死,
全然不能动弹,我只好为你,
迷人的朋友,写下了这首诗。
读了它,你就会知道我的痛苦。
但亲爱的,你要小心,别得意,
也别对我的这份请求不屑一顾,
以免奈米西斯女神降罚于你——
她心狠手辣,千万别惹她生气。

Hesterno, Licini, die otiosi
multum lusimus in meis tabellis,
ut convenerat esse delicatos:
scribens versiculos uterque nostrum
ludebat numero modo hoc modo illoc,
reddens mutua per iocum atque vinum.
Atque illinc abii tuo lepore
incensus, Licini, facetiisque,
ut nec me miserum cibus iuvaret
nec somnus tegeret quiete ocellos,
sed toto indomitus furore lecto
versarer, cupiens videre lucem,
ut tecum loquerer simulque ut essem.
At defessa labore membra postquam
semimortua lectulo iacebant,
hoc, iucunde, tibi poema feci,
ex quo perspiceres meum dolorem.
Nunc audax cave sis, precesque nostras,
oramus, cave despuas, ocelle,
ne poenas Nemesis reposcat a te.
Est vemens dea: laedere hanc caveto.
