| | This was one of my favorite poems to read because this poem describes the endless love Catullus has for Lesbia. The repetition of the thousand kisses he wants from Lesbia through the use of metaphors and similes shows Catullus' passion even more so. Also, this poem is important in my opinion because it is one of the last poems in which Catullus shows his love for Lesbia in a sweet and loving way. In the upcoming poems, that sweet and loving Catullus changes into a very bitter and angry person because Lesbia does not share the same love for Catullus as he does for her. Love is an important and major theme in Catullus' poems and it ranges from passionate love to bitter love. | | | lj |
