| | I translated Carmen 30 slightly differently (I'm taking AP Latin and we translate Catullus every day). I'm guessing mine is more literal than yours is, but I just felt like putting my translation out there... but anyway:
Alfenus undmindful and unfaithful to
faithful friends,
have you now no pity at all, harsh one, for
your sweet little friend?
Now do you no longer hesitate to betray
me, to deceive me, treacherous one?
And impious deeds of deceptive men do
not please the gods.
You ignore these things, and you forsake
miserable me in misfortunes;
alas, tell me, what should men do or to
whom should they have faith?
Certainly you kept ordering me to entrust
my soul, unjust one,
leading me into love, as if all things were
safe for me.
Likewise now you withdraw yourself and
permit the winds and lofty clouds
to carry all your worthless deeds and
words.
If you have forgotten, the gods yet
remember, Faith remembers,
who will make it so that it pains you
shortly of your deed.
