This is a very beautiful poem, one of my best beloved. The central idea of this poem is the comparison of the kisses of the poet’s sweetheart with flowers in a desert. It means that the poet compares his life with the desert and the only nice thing that happens in his life is his dating with his sweetheart. That is why the number of the kisses is identical to the number of the flowers in the desert, it is not the number of the stars. The comparison with the stars would be too primitive, and the comparison with flowers is very beautiful.

Yours sincerely
Olga
