Why the "et" in Carmen 51.11? I've never seen it there before in any text I've used. Does it have any textual support? Is it an editorial fix to avoid the transferred epithet?

Yeah, it's not in my copy either, nor listed as a variant.

I'm looking at a 18th century text (the 1772 Baskerville) and I don't see the "et" in line 11 either.

Ok, I have removed the 'et' from line 11. But does then the scanning of Carmen 11 still make sense for line 11?
